Stephen Biggs Obituary, Cause of Death – Pueblo Police Corporal Dies After Lake Pueblo Wakeboarding Accident

PUEBLO, Colo. — Corporal Stephen Biggs, an off-duty Pueblo Police Department officer, died following a wakeboarding accident at Lake Pueblo State Park on Sunday. His body was recovered early Monday morning after he was reported missing.

Biggs was identified as the boater whose body was recovered from the lake following the incident. The circumstances surrounding the accident remain under investigation, and the Pueblo County Coroner’s Office is expected to release his official cause and manner of death.

Stephen Biggs’ Career With the Pueblo Police Department

Biggs joined the Pueblo Police Department in October 2010 and dedicated more than 15 years to law enforcement service.

During his career, he served as a Patrol Training Officer and was a distinguished member of the department’s SWAT team. His service was recognized through 10 letters of commendation, three Medal of Valor awards, and a Distinguished Service award.

Pueblo Police Chief Chris Noeller described working alongside Biggs as an honor and said his death was deeply personal for the department.

“Working with Stephen was an honor, and his loss is deeply personal,” Noeller said while extending condolences to Biggs’ family, friends, and fellow members of the Pueblo Police Department.
