STURBRIDGE, Mass. — Beth Ann (Porter) Clark, a devoted mother, grandmother, educator, friend, and faithful Catholic, passed away on September 25, 2026, according to an obituary published by Daniel T. Morrill Funeral Home in Southbridge. She was 67.
Born on June 16, 1959, in Toledo, Ohio, Beth spent much of her childhood in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She later earned a master’s degree in Elementary Education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania before making Sturbridge, Massachusetts, her home for the final 20 years of her life.
Education played an important role throughout Beth’s life. She worked as an enrichment teacher at Burgess Elementary School, where she developed meaningful relationships with her students. Inspired in part by her mother, she dedicated her career to helping and encouraging young people.
Beth was known for her selfless and loving personality, sense of humor, and ability to bring smiles to those around her. Friendships she formed over the years became like family, and she was described as someone who consistently offered support to both loved ones and people in need.
Her family was at the center of her life. She is survived by her sons, Andrew J. Clark of Sturbridge and Jacob P. Clark and his wife, Kristin, of Northborough; her daughter, Hannah D. Trombley and her husband, Nathan, of Fiskdale; her brother, Robert J. Porter and his wife, Chris, of Toledo, Ohio; and her sisters, Mary Carolyn Porter of Sturbridge and Susan R. Jeffries and her husband, Merle, of Swanton, Ohio.
She also leaves five grandchildren: John Clark, Myla Trombley, Levi Trombley, Maci Trombley, and Cleo Trombley, as well as many nieces and nephews. Her family described her children and grandchildren as her greatest joy. She often expressed her affection for them by telling them, “I love you to the moon and back.”
Faith was another central part of Beth’s life. A devoted Catholic and believer in Jesus Christ and the power of prayer, she was a member of St. Anne and St. Patrick’s Parish in Fiskdale.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James R. Porter and Mary (Bayer) Porter.
